Rachel Matz

ROOTED Travel Co. Owner

Rachel has been a Licensed Massage Therapist and Yoga Instructor since 2012, and opened a wellness studio "Grass Roots Studio" in Zanesville, Ohio in 2017. She began offering Yoga Retreats around the world in 2019, called ROOTED Retreats, which was the first step in merging work with her love of travel. Her favorite type of travel is bucket-list/once-in-a-lifetime trips with friends and family. She became a mom to her son Makari in June of 2023, and it's been her greatest joy to share her love of travel with her son and husband, Dakota.

ROOTED Travel Co. merges Rachel's love of travel, relationship and service, and empowerment. She believes there's nothing more enlightening than seeing the world. She looks forward to working with you to create experiences you'll cherish for a lifetime.

  • We specialize in custom-designed domestic and international leisure travel, including luxury vacations, family getaways, honeymoons, milestone celebrations, and cruises. We work exclusively with 4- and 5-star hotels, resorts, and vetted travel partners to ensure a high level of quality and service throughout your journey. While we offer a wide range of travel experiences, we do not work with certain mass-market cruise lines and do not specialize in national park-focused itineraries.

  • Many of our trusted travel partners bundle their services including accommodations, transfers, tours, and more-which allows us to offer streamlined, cohesive itineraries with exclusive inclusions and perks. Because of how these packages are priced, we often do not receive itemized breakdowns. However, this bundled approach ensures a seamless travel experience with elevated service, preferred rates, and added value through our vetted partners and Travel Edge affiliation.

  • In most cases, no. Because these properties are individually managed, we can't guarantee the quality or service. Our preference is to book vetted villas, apartments, or residences through trusted partners that meet our 4- and 5-star standards. However, in select cases, we do assist with a VRBO or Airbnb booking when it is the best or only option.
